The school is ideally located in the city centre. It is just a 5-minute walk from the Market Square. The school has been in the current site at Kapucyńska Street since 1906. It is located in the historical building which is on the list of Krakow’s monuments and has been renovated with the funds of Social Committee for the Restoration of Monuments. The building is divided into two parts: the older, historical one and the newer built in 2000. There are 40 classrooms, 4 computer laboratories and 2 gymnasia. Furthermore, the students can obtain school certificates in business skills and in languages. The school offers a wide range of additional classes during which the students can develop their interests and gain knowledge. Those willing to may join drama club, school volunteering and school newspaper.
All the students have their apprenticeships while in year 3 and 4. They gain practical knowledge in banks, hotels, travel agencies and other financial institutions in Kraków and abroad (hospitality internships in Malta and Cyprus). Since 2009 the school has participated in many EU-funded programmes such as Comenius, Leonardo da Vinci and Erasmus+. Both our students and teachers have taken part in mobilities all over Europe to increase their personal and professional skills.
The school boasts a good opinion and it is top-rated among schools of economics and hospitality in Kraków. The graduates of the school set up their own businesses, go to university or work for well-established companies. They have earned a reputation as well-trained and valuable workers.
Loulé Secondary School is a vocational and procedure studies school that teaches about 1600 students aged 15- 21 and, employs 175 teachers and 42 employees of school administration, social action service, training center, operational assistants, and 3 Psychologists.
It is a multicultural school that has students of different nationalities and from different continents. The school encourages and supports partnerships, cultural and linguistic exchanges, and mobilities, considering them to be more valuable for students and teachers in terms of enriching and opening horizons. One of the educational projects is "Orienting knowledge, developing skills, preparing for citizenship" in which one of the main objectives is to provide instruments for academic and professional success in an increasingly competitive and multicultural Europe. Its vision for the future aims to open a school to the world, forming students and teachers with a global vision of the education system. The school emphasizes motivating students to study and avoid dropping out of school. The school population includes all social classes, but with the country's current situation, there is a strong growth of families with economic difficulties. This is associated with social problems reflected in young people arriving at school. The school has experience in running Erasmus+ KA1, KA2, and KA3 projects, eTwinning projects, and former Comenius and Leonardo Da Vinci. They have already done projects with several European countries, even with Australia and Brazil, therefore they can help with the implementation of this project.
As Loulé Secondary School has a strong tradition in offering computer courses, its teachers will help with carrying out IT training and will set an example of how to use media in promotion (the school has a webpage, Moodle, a recent Facebook (5100 "likes"), an Instagram and a YouTube channel. The Portuguese coordinator is an IT teacher who can train other partners in terms of IT and digital media (the school is participating in a project that involves Android apps and teachers know how to create simple apps), there will be 2 other IT teachers involved in the project, 2 English and German teachers working on the project, 2 Biology, 2 Physics, and 2 PE. This project will show Portuguese students how to deal with marketing, and how to develop their own business in this matter. It will allow them to do tasks in an international team while communicating in English with Native speakers and not only. The environment is also vital in learning in our school, making part of the national science projects alive, and having the Green Flag of Eco-Schools. It’s been an eTwinning School, since the start. This school also has the eSafety label silver, is a Unesco School, and has participated for 3 years in the survey SELFIE. Also at a national level, have the stamps of “Healthy Food” and “Healthy Mind”.
