Charter Institute at Erskine
PowerSchool Department
The PowerSchool Department aims to support high quality decision making for schools and administrators through the accurate and timely data recorded in the Student Information System. The PowerSchool Department provides technical assistance and holds the schools accountable for all reported data in PowerSchool, Administrator Navigator, and other assessment data systems.
The mission of the Charter Institute at Erskine is to authorize high-quality charter schools that elevate educational opportunities through innovation and creativity. This to end, it is the responsibility of the Institute to ensure each school has the technical assistance, support and training necessary to meet the needs for data entry and reporting of their students into the state’s Student Information System. The Institute meets this need through a variety of means, notably via monthly webinars, quarterly in-person training opportunities, support services, and one-on-one support visits with schools on site.
The Charter Institute at Erskine currently authorizes 38 schools across the state of South Carolina that serve approximately 30,000 students. Each school has the autonomy to implement innovative ideas and approaches to meet the needs of its students including but not limited to: dual-credit, college ready, project-based learning, virtual k-12 curriculum, Montessori, STEM, global competency, community schools, classical and entrepreneurial designs. With autonomy also comes responsibility. Each school is responsible for entering student, teacher, courses, attendance, discipline, and other school related data into the state’s chosen Student Information System. Schools are responsible for entering and maintaining the data relative to their students and school’s programs and making sure it meets all state reporting requirement and guidelines by the respective due dates.
