Our district policy says that students need to have attended 75% of the rehearsals between the concert timeframe.  Attendance from school is excused.  Band rehearsals are before school at 7:30 - 8:10am. Rehearsals are similar to sport practices where we prepare for our concert.  Lessons during the day is where we work on more individual skills and technique.

Other Performances

Students who are performance ready will have the opportunity to play at our school assemblies.  

For those students needing the extra motivation and challenge, students can work on a NYSSMA level solo to perform at a NYSSMA or MCSMA Solo festival where they perform for an adjudicator and receive feedback and a rating.  At the January solo festival, their performance could also be used as an audition to enter the Monroe All County Elementary Band in the Spring.  More details TBA.
