The word 'anxiety' covers such a wide range of emotional experience, as well as a wide range of intensity. Some anxiety is helpful or fitting to the situation, but when it interferes with your functioning it can feel frustrating, overwhelming, exhausting, or defeating. It can be a barrier to doing the things you want, enjoying life, and feeling like yourself. I support people with a range of issues under the anxiety umbrella, such as: social anxiety, people-pleasing, perfectionism, health worries, obsessive-compulsive symptoms, performance anxiety, pressure to achieve, anxiety from traumatic stress, peripartum anxiety, generalized anxiety, panic attacks, fear of loss, and more.
Planning and hoping for a child, pregnancy, postpartum, and parenting all come with emotional and physical challenges, and you deserve to feel heard and supported throughout this process. I welcome clients among any stage of the peripartum journey: thinking about trying to conceive (TTC), TTC, infertility, loss, pregnancy after loss, adoption, surrogacy, complex-blended families, LGBTQ+ family planning, birth trauma, parenting babies in the NICU, postpartum anxiety and depression, parenting adjustment, ongoing parenting stress, working parents, and every stage thereafter.
I hold a Perinatal Mental Health Certification (PMH-C) through Postpartum Support International and a certificate in CBT for Perinatal Mood Disorders through Strong Roots Counseling.
