Expectations and Classroom Rules
Use of Technology
Students will agree to the following technology use contract in Mrs. Huddleston's classroom.
The use of computer and other technology at school is a privilege with responsibility. Failure to abide by the following guidelines may result in revoking the privilege of using school-issued technology, and/or further consequences.
Do not attempt to modify the appearance or operation of any technology equipment. This includes, but is not limited to, commands, screen settings, copying or installing software, or setting pass code locks. Each one should remain in its original or teacher-set configuration.
Tampering with or vandalizing hardware, software, or data will not be tolerated. It is each student’s responsibility to check the computer before and after use and to report problems to the teacher immediately. This may include issues such as missing or bent keys, cracked screens, sound issues, stuck equipment, etc.
Students will only use applications, software and programs required to complete assignments/projects and only those that have been approved by the teacher of the current class. Failure to stay “on task” may result in loss of technology privileges and/or further discipline actions.
Basic Classroom Rules and Expectations
Students will be expected to follow the Five P's for classroom success. These are:
Be Prompt. Students are expected to arrive to class on time and be ready to learn by the time the tardy bell rings. Daily lesson objectives, warm up activities and assignments will be posted on the projector screen for each class.
Be Prepared. Students are expected to have the supplies necessary for learning. This may mean that students are logged into the desktop computers, have charged chromebooks, or pencil and notebook.
Be Polite. Students are expected to be kind and considerate of each other. Offensive and rude behavior will not be tolerated.
Be Productive. Students are expected to be use the time provided for leaning in a productive and efficient manner. In most cases, there will be no homework due to the nature of our courses, and work should be able to be completed during the class period. However, if students do not use their time wisely, this may result in the need for them to complete their work outside of school.
Be Patient. Students are expected to be understanding of each other, Mrs. Huddleston, and even the technology we use! All students learn differently and it's important that we are patient with each other.
Violation of these rules will result in communication with parents or guardians, removal from the classroom, and even In-School-Suspension.
Cell Phone Use
Students are expected to refrain from cell phone use during class. At times, Mrs. Huddleston may allow for students to listen to music or even engage in the lesson using their phone. During these instances, phones are allowed. However, if not, phones should not be visible to the student and should be in their backpack, purse, pocket, etc. If a phone is visible, it will be taken up for the remainder of the class period. If a phone is taken up on a second or subsequent occasion, it will be turned in to the office for the remainder of the school day.
