Achievement

We celebrate achievement in Socal Subjects using a range of indicators. These allow us to work in partnership with pupils to develop their skills as they progress through the curriculum from BGE to Advanced Higher.

Wider Success

Young people are identified three times a year to achieve a Social Subjects badge.

The criteria for this achievement can be seen on the left. It highlights the appreciation of consistency in effort from our young people.

Transferable Skills

Our subjects allow young people to develop their skills holistically. These transferable skills prepare young people for lifelong learning and work.

See the image on the left to see examples of skills we develop across out facility.

Presentation Skills

Criteria Posters - presentations.pdf

We access presentation skills three times a year in S1 and S2. This allows our young people to reflect on their achievements and set targets to improve their skills as they progress through the BGE.

Writing Skills

Criteria Posters - extended writing.pdf

We access writing skills in S1 and S2 as they are a fundamental part to all of our courses. We take different approaches in each of the subjects, normally woven into our creative tasks.

Creative Skills

Criteria Posters - creative tasks.pdf

We believe personalisation and choice is a key part to pupil creativity. This means each subject takes their own approach to creativity, often adapted to the young people we teach on each rotation.
