IDENTITY
Students will gain a better understanding of identity by examining their own and the internal/external factors that shape and influence it, such as social media, peer pressure, and assumptions. They will also dismantle these labels and reaffirm or redefine their own identities.
BUDGETING
Students will be able to successfully interpret basic budgeting concepts, including analyzing bank statements, the different parts of checks and deposit slips, and tracking and managing their own spending.
INTERVIEW SKILLS
Students will be able to properly prepare for a job interview by analyzing the most commonly asked questions, utilizing learnings from different texts, and participating in mock interviews with each other.
SELF MOTIVATION
Students will be able to understand the importance of self-motivation as a life skill and learn how to utilize various simple self-motivation strategies in their everyday lives.
TRANSITION TO COLLEGE
Students will be able identify key components that they need to consider in preparation for the transition to college. They will also examine basic financial budgeting, transitioning to new residential living situations, and the various resources that different colleges have to offer to support their students during this transition.
