Currently serving alumni in high school and college, Equitas Academy Alumni Programs supports the academic success and personal development of alumni to ensure they are prepared to succeed in four-year colleges and universities. We strive to help alumni develop and remain connected to their college-going identities. Through comprehensive alumni supports, Equitas Academy scholars and their families will have the support to overcome systemic challenges toward attaining a college degree, significantly contributing to the educational outcomes of the Pico-Union community and disrupting the status quo.
Upon 8th grade culmination, Equitas Academy’s Alumni Program commits to 10 years of support
to and through 4-year colleges and universities for every alum.
Philosophy
We believe that 100% of Equitas scholars can graduate from 4-year colleges and universities. We understand that the educational outcomes of our scholars have significant implications beyond their own futures; pursuit of a college degree has the ability to transform both their family and community. When scholars and the Equitas community build mutually beneficial relationships, we create a community of changemakers, contributors, thought-partners, and supporters connected and committed to a larger movement.
Vision
College must be for everyone. At Equitas Academy, our scholars and their families will have the support to overcome systemic challenges toward attaining a bachelor’s degree. Our vision is to provide opportunity for scholars and their families to access and navigate a demanding, high-quality education after Equitas and through college graduation. Through high school selection and preparation and comprehensive alumni supports, we aim to significantly contribute to the educational outcomes of the Pico-Union community.
