LETTERS OF RECOMMENDATION

Students will learn about the proper etiquette for requesting a letter of recommendation, including the importance of using a brag sheet in the process.

RESUME BUILDING

Students will be able to correctly identify the different components of a strong resume and begin an outline for their own resume using a multitude of resources provided to them through the session. 

FINANCIAL AID

Students will be able to explain the college financial aid process and the different types of aid available, including grants, loans, work-study, and scholarships.

STRESS MANAGEMENT

Students will be able to identify the factors that cause stress, its impacts on the body and self, and develop ways to cope and manage stressful situations.

IDENTITY

Students will gain a better understanding of identity by examining their own and the internal/external factors that shape and influence it, such as social media, peer pressure, and assumptions. They will also dismantle these labels and reaffirm or redefine their own identities.
