Rhode Island State Law requires that all students entering Pre-K, Kindergarten, Seventh, Twelfth, and all out- of-state transfer students show evidence of a physical examination 12 months before or 6 months after entering school. A vision and lead screening are required of all children entering Pre-K and Kindergarten.Â

In Rhode Island, students are required to be vaccinated against certain diseases. These requirements are based on recommendations from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the American Academy of Pediatrics, and healthcare providers in Rhode Island.
