Global Girls Program

What:  Global Girls is a brave space for girls, women, and femmes to make new connections, build their self-confidence, and explore their multicultural identity. 

 

It is a free weekly drop-in program. Activities and topics are driven by participants’ interests and needs.

Past activities have included: Arts and crafts, movie nights, baking/cooking, dancing, gardening, cultural exchange, healthy relationship building, volunteering, resume building, career exploration, field trips, summer retreat,

and more!

 

Where: In-person sessions at Newcomer Centre, Downtown (10170  112 St NW)

         Virtual session on Zoom (alternating)

 

When: Saturday afternoon (in-person)

          Thursday evening after school (online)

 

*Sessions will alternate between Saturday afternoon in-person sessions and Thursday evening virtual sessions. Sessions run from October to June.

 

Eligibility: 15 - 21 years old, self-identifies as a girl, woman, or femme, and speaks and understands basic English. All resident statuses are welcome, especially PRs!
