Principal's Message

It is with great pride that I welcome you to our wonderful S. Bruce Smith virtual open house webpage, and more importantly, to our school. Thank you for considering S. Bruce Smith as your junior high school and as a place to be in your educational journey. 

There is no question that S. Bruce Smith is a place of excellence, however, it is also a place where relationships matter - where relationships are nurtured with kindness,  empathy and a commitment to each and every student so that they will succeed knowing they are cared for and capable. Through these web pages, you will get a flavour of the spirit of SBS and what we are collectively striving to achieve. S. Bruce Smith is a school where our team is committed to working alongside you, your parents and our community to build upon what is already an amazing legacy of learning. 

As you walk through these pages and get a sense of S. Bruce Smith's way of being, you see evidence of our commitment to you as a learner through an environment that is supportive and fosters your success and well-being. Please know that by choosing S. Bruce Smith, you are choosing a school that values kindness and is committed to nurturing all students so they grow not only as learners, but as confident, caring, capable individuals who embrace and value responsibility, diversity, inclusion and kindness in a way that not only affords each one of us success, but allows each of you as students the opportunities to learn in a safe environment so you can be a leader today and tomorrow. 

Again, thank you for considering this wonderful school as your junior high. It is my hope that we earn your choice and the privilege to teach you in the coming year.
