Pre-Advanced Placement Program


The Pre-Advanced Placement Program is an extremely rigorous program that requires a significant amount from students and families. We want to ensure that those students who have chosen this program have the best opportunity for success. As such, we would like to ensure that families and students have all of the information necessary to make the best decision about their academic future and that we can best support this decision. We ask that all families seeking entry into the Pre-AP Program complete both the Parent and Student Inventory linked below.

We would ask that families work together to complete these two documents to help McKernan staff advise families on whether students are a good fit for the Pre-AP program. In order to facilitate this, and provide time for families to have choice prior to the April 15 enrollment deadline, we ask for the forms to be completed by April 15, 2021.

As McKernan's Pre-Advanced Placement is an Alternative Program which means that enrollment is not guaranteed. We recommend that all families seeking Pre-AP review information regarding the Random Selection Process.

Here are a few reminders:


  • March 10 - McKernan Virtual Open House (Check website for more details in the weeks prior to the scheduled date).

  • April 15 - We are asking interested Pre-AP families to submit Pre-AP Student Inventories so that we may review and discuss fit for the program prior to the end of Pre-Enrolment.

  • April 15 - Deadline to Pre-Enrol (For current EPSB Students using SchoolZone).
