In Learning Supports, we understand that there are factors that can impact success in school. Learning Supports is here to support students in achieving their academic goals.
We work to:
Increase engagement in learning
Ensure academic success for students
Increase social and emotional well-being for students
To accomplish those goals we:
Use evidence-based practices to support students with a wide variety of diagnosis'
Establish relationships with students and their families
Provide a space for support and regulation
Create webs of support for vulnerable students
Check in with students with IPPs to provide support
Students with an IPP can access their accommodations through Room 344
Let your teacher know you have an IPP and which accommodation you require two days before an assessment (specify extra time, separate space, audio)
They will book you into the accommodations room using a google form and will take your test down to the accommodations room
Ask them if you are needed in the classroom before the exam for any instruction
If not, head to the accommodations room during that class to write your exam
Write the exam with your accommodations (if extra time is needed you can come early or stay late - we will excuse you)
Leave the assessment and go back to your classroom if you finish early
