The Epping Elementary School science program and the Epping Conservation Commission initiated a partnership during the 2017-2018 school year to engage 5th grade students in local conservation land as part of their study in natural resources and conservation. In the beginning of the year, the Conservation Commission visited the 5th grade classes to introduce the students to the role the Commission plays in the community and to get them excited about working with the Commission and learning about natural resources and conservation. After those visits, students worked in groups to develop questions they had about natural resources and conservation. They conducted research to answer those questions and used that research to create a final product that highlighted the importance of natural resources and conservation and provided ways the community could conserve natural resources. This website was created to showcase their work and to provide the community with a educational resources on natural resources and conservation.
