Lounge decorating starts on Monday, November 3rd from 6:00PM-8:15PM. Classes must start and finish their lounges within this time frame.
By 8:15PM, a photo of each completed lounge must be taken and sent to Ms. Yu. This is to ensure no changes were made after the deadline.
In addition to the provided supplies, each class may also use a maximum of $100 worth of extra supplies, to be drawn from their own class budget. Receipts must be submitted to Mrs. Shingle by 8:15PM on Monday.
All decorations and supplies must come from either the provided supply list or the $100 max budget. No other decorations, supplies, tools, or materials may be used or incorporated. No donations are allowed.
Banners may be made in advance. You will receive one nylon banner and one polyester banner. Please use ONE for your official class banner. The extra banner may be used in a different way in the class lounge, or returned to Ms. Yu.
The competition is limited to decorating the lounge area only. No hallways are permitted.
Please only use painters’ tape on the walls and ceiling.
You must use the provided drop cloth to cover the floor when painting indoors. Do not get any paint on the floor. Please consider painting outdoors, whenever possible.
Students may not spy on or interfere with other lounges during set-up. Please respect each class’s privacy while they work. Students found in spaces in which they do not belong will be left off of the count for the Class Participation criteria.
Each grade will be judged on how they choose to decorate their lounge. The lounges will be judged in the following categories: Creativity, Craftsmanship, School Spirit, Class Spirit, Mystery Item Use, Banner Design, Class Participation. 5 possible points per category, out of 35 possible points total.
