Esse Quam Videri (EQV) is a student leadership group made up of EA seniors who are elected by their peers and the Upper School faculty on the basis of leadership potential and proven senses of integrity, honesty, and respect. The function of the group is two-fold: it seeks to cultivate a positive and inclusive culture in the school community and it seeks to grow the leadership capacities of each of the EQV members.

The Upper School Student Council represents a voice for the entire student body and serves in an advisory role to the administration while promoting school spirit, morale, and extracurricular activities. Student Council organizes class and school-wide events like Club Fair, Spirit Week, the Homecoming Dance, movie nights, and Cupcake Wars. Council Members are also responsible for maintaining class and Upper School social media accounts.
Elections for Student Council are held in the Spring for the following school year. Freshmen Student Council elections are held in the Fall.

The Vestry provides spiritual leadership for the student body. They plan and conduct Chapel services in conjunction with the Chaplain and members of the Religion Department. The Vestry establishes the Chapel theme for the year in consultation with members of the school community and identifies the various ways that the theme will be expressed through worship. The 2024-25 Chapel Theme is “Power Made Perfect in Weakness."

This group organizes and creates the Episcopal yearbook. Students will help design and layout eye-catching pages, using photos of our community. Students may also choose to help out with photography by taking photos of our community at school events. We explore various medical issues and treatments and then present a project to a panel of doctors from mainline health at the Science Symposium in the spring! Other schools involved in Annenberg include Radnor, Agnes Irwin, and Malvern Prep. Aside from this event we meet with doctors every so often from any field of medicine we are interested and go on field trips. Last year we went to the UPenn Hyperbaric Chambers and worked with the doctors at the UPenn emergency unit and then got dinner in Philly after!

EA’s Asian American Student Union (AASU) is a student-led group aimed at building community, providing a safe space for discussion, and collaborating with other student groups to celebrate our multicultural backgrounds! AASU hosts movie nights, potlucks, and speakers through the year to amplify AAPI voices and is a great opportunity for students with AAPI heritage to connect with each other and with faculty. Non-AAPI members are welcome to join as well!

The Astronomy Club is a place for students interested in learning more about astronomy, the study of outer space. We host regular meetings each schedule rotation (during an Activity block) in which we discuss recent astronomy news and learn more about astronomy concepts. Additionally, we host observing nights -- nights after school when you can look through various telescopes on campus to observe the moon, planets, nebulae, and galaxies!

The Hispanic Student Union (HSU) is a club meant to unite and embrace the Hispanic culture and students at the Episcopal Academy. While we celebrate and explore our own culture, we strive to make our club meetings an environment open to the perspectives of other cultures and students alike. Episcopal's Junto Debate Club (EA's oldest club!) conducts intramural debates once a month of current events topics of national importance and local interest, which are judged by student Junto Board members. The year culminates in the annual MacBean Bowl tournament judged by Junto alumni. Signing up for Junto at the Club Fair puts you on the list of those interested in hearing about upcoming debates.

The Jewish Student Union (JSU) will be a welcoming place for people of the Jewish faith, heritage, or supporters to learn more about the culture and ways to combat antisemitism within our community. Those who do not observe the religion are welcome and encouraged to join and learn about the history of Judaism and its people. JSU may also sponsor events to share cultural celebrations with the larger community. There will be fun activities like a Purim carnival with homemade hamantaschen, finding the Afi Comen to learn more about the many traditions of Passover, and movie nights.

This team comes together to strategize how to win with a courthouse as the field of play. Acting as lawyers (thinking on your feet!) and witnesses (acting the part!), Mock Trial sharpens your skills of analysis, collaboration, and public speaking as we compete against other high school teams at the Media Courthouse. A jury of attorneys decide the case and score the competitors. You don’t need to know ANYTHING about the law going in - we will teach you!

Model UN is a group of students that are excited to learn about international relations and passionate about participating in two mock United Nations conferences at EA and in Philadelphia in January. In Model UN, students learn to propose solutions to solve critical, real-world problems on the fly and will develop their collaboration abilities through working with other participants.

We will have a series of meetings in October, of which students will be asked to attend only one, to provide logistical information about Model UN. We will, as a group, attend the Ivy League Model UN Conference in January in Philadelphia. We will have an "EAMUN" all day long one Saturday in early January, before the conference.

Have you ever wanted to run your own experiment? Or maybe there was a topic from class that you wish went a little more in depth? Join PJAS! During PJAS, you will be able to pick a science topic of YOUR choice and conduct YOUR own experiment. This is a great experience if you are considering pursuing STEM in college or if you want to gain hands-on experience on how science works. Queer Straight Alliance is a place where above all, everyone is welcome. As a group we often discuss topics regarding queer representation and issues within our school community and the greater global community. We meet at least once within the 8 day rotation and meetings are often relaxed and open, allowing everyone to contribute to the conversation. Whether it's the newest show or a current event, discussions are always open and inclusive.

Join the Science Olympiad club for an exciting journey into STEM. Explore your passion for STEM through the variety of events that SciOly has to offer. From forensics to robotics, there will surely be an event for anyone! We will meet once every other week during Domino to study concepts and prepare for our in-house tournament during STEMposium this spring.

Are you interested in learning about the inner-workings of the sports industry and sports analytics? Come join us as we discuss sports problems, management tools, and analytical skills. You will even get to manage your own sports team in a massive fantasy football league! Lastly, you will be able to ask questions to live speakers in the sports industry from pro-sports teams across the country.

The club is docused on educating the school community and making our school more sustainable through student action, through educational workshops for Lower and Middle School students on sustainable practices, including reusing and recycling, farming, and gardening. We organize and host meetings with local community members, including nature preserve leaders, who support sustainability initiatives.

Drop in and Serve! Weekly service and service learning opportunities open to all US students on a drop in basis. All are welcome in the Chapel lobby during Domino for a weekly project such as packing personal care kits for individuals living in transitional housing, creating bookmarks encouraging under-resourced students to read, learn about respectful ways and words to think about social justice issues like housing, food insecurity, educational inequity...and more!
Students Serve is an initiative of the Community Service Leadership Board. All EA clubs are invited to host a Students Serve in partnership with the Community Service board.
