Getting Started

Please complete the items below before school begins. It will make the year go by much more smoothly!

1. Login to your school google email account

1. Go to GOOGLE MAIL

2. Use Student email/login Information:

Username: (first initial)(last initial)(Student ID #) Example: rb12345@epiccharterschools.org

Password: Epic1234

You will be prompted to change your password. Make sure it is something you will remember.

2. Login to Parent Portal

Go to PARENT PORTAL and make sure you can log in.

3. Homework Help--Tutor Me, ETI/Homework Help

Homework help is available to you 24 hours a day and someone can help you in all the curriculum’s you will be working in. Log in to Homework Help (grades 3rd-12th) and complete a session with a tutor to learn the awesome features and tools of the program. Here are the steps to request a Homework Help tutorial Don't forget to ask them how to screen share!

Click here to go to the Homework Help site http://homeworkhelp.epiccharterschools.org. It is also located on the Epic Center homepage. See log in cheat sheet for username and password.
Click “On Demand” or “Request” Session.
Enter the subject, assignment or problem you need help with.

For your first login

- - Select the grade you are in
  - Subject: Choose any from the drop down menu
  - Category: Choose "orientation"
  - Curriculum: Choose "Virtual Classroom and Tools"
  - Course: Choose "Introduction to Virtual Classroom and Tools"
  - Question: Type in "orientation"

Communication Tips

Be Specific
Display the problem - use the whiteboard, take a screenshot and upload it to the whiteboard, upload the entire assignment, or screen share.

4. Read the student/parent handbook

Make sure both student and parent have read and understand the entire handbook.

6. Go to your local library

If you do not already have a library card, please get one! Reading daily has proven to be one of the best indicators of student success!

7. Create a daily schedule

It is found that the best way to be successful as an Epic Student is to have a consistent schedule of when you will log on to work in certain courses and when you will take breaks. You can find some great examples for your child's specific grade on Pinterest or Google search.

8. Get familiar with google drive

I will be sharing a folder with you that contains important information that you will need all year. Please watch this video and we will also go over it together if you have any questions.
