A selection of Sixth Formers give their persepective on life at Elthorne Park Sixth Form
Anya - Yr12
I’ve found transitioning into Elthorne Park Sixth Form very natural; any concerns I had were quickly solved with the help of staff members. It did help the transition process that I attended EPHS in Yr 11, however everything else was brand new. For example, we now have free periods and independent study, where we can dedicate our own time to our studies. I have really enjoyed the many different areas of study and the variation of focus across my different subjects.
Emmy - Yr12
So far I have really enjoyed Sixth Form life. What has to be probably my faovurite thing about Sixth Form is the free periods. These are really useful to get more homework and revision done in the school day rather than at home. The second best thing I enjoy about Sixth Form is enjoying all of your subjects in a school day. Since you are able to narrow down your options to the subjects you like, homework and revision become easier and more enjoyable. Overall, I have really liked being at Elthorne Park Sixth Form so far.
Ben - Yr12
Year 12 is naturally harder, as the work has significantly increased. However, I found that it is more than manageable, as the teachers work at a good pace in lessons, allowing us to grasp new content and consolidate learning. The subject content has become more in depth, and whilst I am now only studying 3 subjects, the level of independent study does significantly increase. Nevertheless, I much prefer A-levels to GCSE, as you get to study subjects that you enjoy and Sixth Form life is definitely more enjoyable!
