Is This College For You?

Welcome my fellow seniors! As our high school years are coming to an end, college decisions are around the corner. As I myself am a senior I know how stressful these choices are, which are creeping up behind our backs every single day. I wanted to create a space for us that we can all rely on in order to get a quick look at what specific colleges offer and if they will fit you and your goals.

Away From Home

The University of Illinois—Urbana-Champaign comprises 15 colleges and schools. Its School of Information Sciences, College of Engineering, and Department of Psychology are among the best in the country. The school's College of Business, College of Education, and College of Law are also highly ranked.


Student Population

When you go to UIUC, you're not just meeting people “from Illinois.” Students here come from 50 U.S. states and 113 countries across the world. UIUC has the most students of color among top-100-ranked Midwest universities.

There is around a population of 50,000 students each year allowing for many opportunities to connect with new people and find new friends and create great memories.

Sports and Activities

Illinois has 10 men’s NCAA teams and 11 women’s NCAA teams with 15 major facilities giving them the power to play amazing.

UIUC has over 1,000 clubs and student organizations in order to fulfill everyone's passion and want for involvement. In the beginning of the school year they offer a quad day, which is a day that allows students to explore and learn about all of the possible clubs they can join and partake in, some being Illini Hackers; Promoting Undergraduate Research in Engineering; Society of Women Engineers; Entrepreneurs Without Borders; Illini Chess Club; CS Grad Student Organization; and hundreds more.

With almost 300 student organizations, UIC provides a wide range of opportunities for students to get involved and develop community. Student organizations play a significant role in providing effective learning environments for students, preparing members to live and work in a global community and develop a feeling of comfort for college, some being E-Sports; Accounting Club; 1 2 Boxing Club; Anthropology Club; American Society of Civil Engineers; and hundreds more.
