*The Phase 2 workgroup identified the strongest content standards connections in these competencies:
...and developed this PWR / CAS Connections Starter Kit for teachers as a quick suggestion guide to connections between PWR performance outcomes and Colorado Academic Standards for Math, Science, and Reading, Writing, and Communication. They are many, many more connections to be made in every content area than what is provided here; it is meant to provide some initial guidance as needed or wanted by teachers. The litany of connections not listed here includes but is not limited to explicitly stated content standards around Collaboration.
In addition, there are potentially thousands of tasks to be designed where students gain any type of content knowledge or skill, and the way in which they engage with and demonstrate their learning involves the modeling, practicing, and assessing of one or more PWR performance outcomes(s) (e.g. the process is iterative, reflective, collaborative, involves giving and receiving feedback, and/or builds resilience). Building on current strengths and experimenting further around classroom culture and strong relationships to model and measure student growth in skills like Self-Efficacy and Self-Care or Adaptability and Reflective Practice is also strongly encouraged.
