About Prof. Cattaleeya

Blibiography

Prof. Cattaleeya is usually called Ajarn Catt by her students. She graduated with Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering from the Faculty of Engineering, Chulalongkorn University (Intania 74) with the GPA of 3.52/4.00 (second-class honor). During her bachelor study, she won a scholarship from the Government of Thailand to pursue her study in Chemical Engineering at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, USA and became a lecturer at Chemical Engineering, Thammasat University, after graduation. Her Ph.D. dissertaion was on "Quantitative Predictions of Polymer Melts Dynamics", where she wrote computer codes to carry out quantitative prediction of rheological properties of polymer melts under supervision of her very smart thesis advisor, Prof. Ronald G. Larson. Her doctoral dissertation also won the best dissertation award from the National Research Council of Thailand. At Thammasat University, she carried out many research works on natural rubber including rubber composites/nanocomposites/blends as well as properties improvement of natural rubber latexes. She also carried out researches on biodiesel reaction and degradation, and heat exchanger design and simulation, following her frequent lectures on heat transfer. In latter years, she has integrated her experiences in natural rubber and polymer rheology to formulate fully biobased and biodegradable packaging. She got several research grants surrounding  these topics in the past few years with many exciting challenges and potential applications. Many of her students received outstanding thesis/dissertation awards from Thammasat University for many years. Now she has been promoted to a full professor by the Thammasat University board committee with the Royal approval. Her research group is very lively and full of love and always welcome new students who are interested in joining exciting research work with our team.
