How will you learn?
The academic year is divided into four terms, each being about 10 weeks long (including breaks if any).
Before the start of each term, we bring all students together for vibrant event series called Discovery Week. With 20+ enrichment activities available across 6 days, you can develop your skills, dedicate time for your project, attend Meet the Expert sessions and connect with the wider community of Engame. A range of online sessions will be available throughout the week to cater for those students learning on our online programs.
As the term officially starts, you'll focus on your two core program elements: attending your Seminar (or seminars if you choose two) and your Mentoring sessions. During term time, we'll also offer Field Trips and various student-led and community events (see under Student life) to delve deeper into various interests and build relationships with students from other years, a number of which will be available online.
On top of the Junior elements, students who choose to enrol to the Study Abroad Program will have extra sessions from term 3.
In Junior, all program elements are sign up-based and will be announced on Classroom. We invite you to participate in as many things as you can - experience new things, try yourself in different situations, and make valuable connections!

Core program in the Online Junior Year
🎯 Seminars
We offer two main types of these in Junior year, Introductory and Field-specific seminars, both with a distinctive aim to support your academic orientation and help you build your profile for your university application.
Introductory seminars are offered in the three most popular broad academic areas; Business and Economics, Social Sciences and STEM. These will provide you with an insight into larger subject areas as a start of a deeper engagement with the field(s) that you are considering for your future studies, allowing you to experience what studying a particular field would be like at university level. We have these as recurring items on our Seminar menu in Term 1 and Term 3, enabling you to engage with more than one wider field over the year - may this be because you need more input for your orientation, or because your interest lies at the intersection of two fields. Space permitting, you will also be able to register for two seminars in the same term if you choose our Fast Track option.
Field-specific seminars in Term 2, 3 and 4 will focus on more niche and specific areas, allowing you to delve deeper and develop a more thorough understanding of topic and its application. They tend to cover contemporary academic discussions rather than linear or historical totality, with activities that help you build relevant skills required for the study of the field.
Format: Small group sessions
Schedule: weekdays from 17.30
Saturdays from 10.00, 12noon or 14.00
Number of sessions: 6 sessions per term
Length: Workshops last for 90 minutes
Registration: Termly, first come first served, announced on Classroom
🏁 Fast Track (optional)
Once the first round of the seminar registration is done, we will open up the Fast Track application for those who would like to take more seminars.
Registration: At the beginning of each term, after core seminar is confirmed,
announced on Classroom
💬 Mentoring
Mentoring in Junior year has a specific purpose to support your orientation and profile building, allowing you to discuss the fields you currently have in mind for your future studies / career. You will be paired with a professional who has a background in the field you are considering, and meet twice in each term. With support and guidance from your mentor, you'll look into possible study fields more deeply, find answers to your questions and dilemmas, and start collecting specific relevant experiences that you'll be able to use in your university application.
Format: One-on-one sessions
Length: 2 x 45 minutes per term
Mentor allocation: at the beginning of the year,
announced via email
Registration: agree on time and platform via email with your mentor
In Junior year you will have the opportunity to complete a project - a full cycle of planning and implementing one. Read our dedicated Project Page for a full description of what an Engame project is and what support you can receive through the process. Once you decide to embark on an Engame project, be sure to register for a Project Kick-off session during Discovery Week in term 1 or 3, to help you get started.
Your project is a great opportunity to experiment with a question or topic you're interested in, develop useful skills, and it can - as it often does for Engamers - feature in your uni application further down the line!
