You have been given access credentials for your SPIS computer accounts. You can use these to log into the lab computers. These will work as assigned. However, if you want to change the password, please follow the steps below.
To change your account password, go to the following site: https://password.ucsd.edu/GetUser.aspx
In the box at the bottom, titled "The AD Password Change Tool", enter your username (e.g., spis23xx).
This will get you to a new page, where you need to click the link "I know my current AD password and would like to change it".
In the new page that appears, enter your username (e.g. spis23xx) and your current password to log in.
Then enter the required information to choose a new password. Please note the password requirements. Try selecting a password that you won't forget (it is a bit involved to reset your password if you were to forget it, see instructions below). Note that if you have to reset your password multiple times, you will not be able to reuse any prior passwords.
If at any time during this process you are asked for DUO or two-factor authentication, you need to first register for this, see instructions below.
If you don't remember your password, you need to email its-ics@ucsd.edu and ask them to reset it. In your email to them, you need to mention your full name and well as your SPIS username for which you want to reset the password. Note that you must use your own UCSD email account to send this email request.
This authentication is tied to your account, not to you as a user. What this means is that if you have another UCSD account (like your own personal account, another class account, etc.), each needs to be registered separately.
To register your SPIS account, follow these steps:
Use your SPIS account credential to sign on; i.e., your username (e.g., spis23xx) and your current password.
Follow the steps in the registration procedure. We recommend you choose "mobile phone" as the device you are adding. When you are successful registering your phone, you can close the browser window.
To set up your UCSD email account, follow the instructions here: https://support.ucsd.edu/its?id=kb_article_view&sysparm_article=KB0033344
