Ionizer Testing

Ionizer Against Smoke

Incense was sparked to release ash particles inside a transparent container to helped visualize the ionizer's effect on this type of particulate The ionizer's output cable was introduced briefly after removing the incense stick to test the component.

While a stick of incense was lit, the ionizer was turned on and a good visualization of its performance was produced.

An initial concern with the ionizer was that it may interrupt the performance of the component fans the team was hoping to pair it with. For this reason, testing was required.

ANSYS Simulations

Testing Enclosure Simulation

The airflow inside the testing enclosure caused by the introduction of fans in the Ionizing Product Unit was simulated with ANSYS fluid to obtain a general idea of the behavior and pathways of air.
