The clock project is meant to introduce students to CAD and analysis software, as well as teach them basic manufacturing skills. The unique pendulum designs encourage students to be creative while also challenging themselves by experimenting with different tools.
Using two equations (point mass and inertial) and a simulation program, we made three separate predictions for the oscillation time of our pendulums. We then recorded observations for the actual oscillation time and compared the differences between our predictions and measurements.
For me, my inertial analysis prediction was the most accurate.
