The clock project served as an introduction to computer-aided design and manufacturing. The computer-aided design was challenging because I simply didn't use it before so naturally I had lots of questions and made many mistakes. I followed the steps illustrated in the cluster 2 webpage on Design and Control of Kinetic Sculptures.
Thanks to this project, I learned to use modern engineering applications like Fusion 360, AutoCAD, and Working Model 2D. Even though it was my first time using computer-aided design, I finished my pendulum clock project. The images below are the progression of my pendulum project, from my work in Fusion 360 to preparing to print in AutoCAD to me simulating the oscillation side by side with my actual pendulum.
