A disposable plastic attachment was designed. These Anti-Rotation Features (ARF) attach to the bottom of each test tube before entering the EXCITE lab. The ARF will force a proper orientation into the test tube rack before entering the Hamilton machine to be scanned. The extruding fin can only fit a certain way into the rack.
The ARF is aligned with the barcode before the test tubes are used. It will only be able to be placed in the rack as seen on the left in one orientation. Thus, laboratory workers will not have to waste time aligning the test tubes by hand.
