Overview of Status of Analysis, Design, Fabrication, Tests, etc.
Water loss testing will be based on temperature (solar loading - heat lamps), humidity (air-conditioning in closed room), and wind (heat fan)
Will need to do water loss testing due to outside conditions for silk bags (eventually new material bags as well)
Dita will sew up the bags by Thursday (we can possibly do testing for Friday)
Dual Layer bag and simply making the bag smaller are the other viable options to try out
Accomplishments from Previous Week
We all researched a bit on a proper testbed on water loss
Contacted Dita to sew the bags (should be done by this Thursday or so)
Goals for Next Week (list names after each item). Use specific and measurable objectives.
Everyone: contribute to water loss testing
Everyone: check if data for water loss makes sense when we finish water loss testbed
Everyone: If testbed doesn’t yield measurable water loss results, tweak the testbed parameters
Kevin: Order the necessary materials and fastening parts (polycarbonate screws) or even adhesives
Albert/Jordan: Get website updated especially the Gantt Chart
Albert: Document closely any small or big comments or suggestions made by instructor or lead sponsor during meetings
Dylan: Keep in contact with Todor for any possible issues and progress on testing
Anyone: If anyone has free time, do water loss testing and weigh start and end times
Sponsor Comments from Last Meeting and Actions Taken to Address these Comments
Water loss is also due to convection and wind too, not just solar loading
Company’s testbed is currently a shielded room
Will start testing for water loss for the next 2-3 weeks
Instructor Comments from Last Meeting and Actions Taken to Address these Comments
There needs to be a means of testing for water loss (hard data)
Do as much necessary testing that seems reasonable
Figure out all the possible causes for water loss and make a testbed to test this for each bag (already wrote this on first point of the first section of this write-up)
Risks and Areas of Concern
Making a proper water loss test bag
How are we going to test and weigh the bags for water loss given that there’s only on universal scale (each test will take around 2-3 hours)
Will we do testing for each parameter cause (solar loading, wind, low humidity) for each week? If so, then what will we do then?
Resources or Information Required but not Available
Water loss rate for the prototype and company silk bags
What is the primary cause for water loss in the bag
Schedule
Do rigorous water loss testing
Finalize a standard, but replicable water loss testbed

Budget (list amount spent and amount remaining)
Currently, we have only used approximately $25 of our funds for research purpose over the course of Winter Break. These materials were purchased by Christian, and will be reimbursed at a later time. Our remaining funds are now currently at around $975.
Todor will tell us how much the total material costs were
Depending on how long Dita sews, her charge rate for sewing is $28 per hour.
