Overview of Status of Analysis, Design, Fabrication, Tests, etc.
Clear mazes integrated with sensors and fully functional
Lining placed into black mazes
Y-mazes fully constructed
Mounts created for the DAQs
Recordings taken of mouse pups separated from mothers. Analysis yielded consistant USV's mostly around 45-60kHz.
Issues with sensor circuitry and interface with DAQ encountered and solved after consulting with Steve Roberts and National Instruments.
Phototransistor was not reaching a low enough voltage when unobstructed.
Issue found to be pull up resistor in DAQ.
Solved by using lower resistor on LED, which increases its intensity.
Accomplishments from Previous Week
Successfully record more mouse USV's
Integrate sensors with mazes and DAQ
Decided that black mazes must have holes drilled in order to accommodate sensors
Goals for Next Week (list names after each item). Use specific and measurable objectives.
Review software to ensure full functionality and to ensure the interface is intuitive. (Sam/Phong)
Prepare black mazes and create diagrams so that sensors can be integrated by people working in sponsor's lab (All)
Clean maze and hide the wiring (Sonya/Caren)
Conduct final testing with microphone and sensors (All)
Complete presentation for sponsors and update with most current results from testing (Caren/Sonya)
Sponsor Comments from Last Meeting and Actions Taken to Address these Comments (indicate date of comments and if via email or in person)
In person meeting on 6/7
Motion sensor program must have alternation rate calculation and input for comments
Black mazes do not need to be fully completed. Sponsors will continue work on them.
Clear mazes must be fully operational.
Attach non-reflective lining in black mazes securely
Test mazes for durability

Comments from Other Students in the Class (indicate date of comments and if via email or in person)
Risks and Areas of Concern
Sensors sometimes do not function do to imperfect wiring
Obtaining results from final testing
Durability of Y-maze. Sponsor placed a concerning amount of stress on it when it was displayed to him.
Software fulfilling all of sponsor's requirements. Meeting with sponsor revealed revealed a lack of communication on their part concerning some of the specific requirements of the LabView software.

Progress on Report and Webpage
Webpage almost complete, but needs pictures and diagrams. Executive summary must also be edited.
Latest testing results from sensors and microphone must be added to the report
Report must be proofread and properly formatted
