Chemical Treatment Technologies for Industrial Wastewater

Burapha University is located in the Eastern part of Thailand and surrounded by several industrial estates. These industries generated various industrial wastewaters due to several chemicals are used as raw materials in the industrial processes. Some of them are recalcitrant organic wastes. Chemical treatments including advanced oxidation processes (AOPs) are one of best alternatives to treat these wastes. This research group intends to evaluate the best treatment technology for each kind of wastes. Our previous and current projects are listed below:

  1. Pretreatment of Industrial Wastewater Containing Rust from Iron Pipe and Boiler Cleaning Process with Fenton and Fenton-like process. Faculty of Engineering, Burapha University and Private Company, 2013.
  2. Treatment of industrial wastewater containing chemicals from cleaning ISO chemical tanks. Private Company, 2012.
  3. Removal of total dissolved solids in industrial effluents with algae, Faculty of Engineering, Burapha University and Private Company, 2010.
  4. Best coagulant-based sludge production for the removal of anionic surfactants in industrial wastewater. Burapha University and Private Company, 2009.
  5. Recycling alum sludge as a coagulation aid for the treatment of industrial wastewater containing surfactants. Burapha University and Private Company, 2007
  6. Effects of biological sludge on the coagulation of industrial wastewater containing surfactants. Burapha University and Private Company, 2007.
  7. Simultaneous chemical coagulation and precipitation of wastewater containing surfactant and phosphorus. Burapha University and Private Company, 2008.
