About Me

Dr. Tongchai Sriwiriyarat is an Associate Professor of Environmental Engineering at the Faculty of Engineering, Burapha University. He is currently working for the Department of Chemical Engineering. In addition, He was a former chair of Environmental Engineering Division and the doctoral program in Environmental Engineering.

Tongchai received his undergraduate degree with first class honor in Public Health with a specialization of Environmental Health Science from Mahidol University, one of the top universities in Thailand ranked by QS Asian University Rankings. Upon his degree completion, he was nationally selected to receive a Royal Thai Government Scholarship to pursue both master and doctoral degrees aboard in Environmental Engineering program. Additionally, he accepted the position as a lecturer at the Faculty of Engineering, Burapha University in 1994. A year later, he left the country to study graduate programs at Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University or Virginia Tech in the Charles E. Via, Jr. Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering. He spent another 1.5 years for additional undergraduate courses in the School of Engineering for changing the degree from science to engineering. He graduated the master degree in Environmental Engineering specializing in Computer Software Development for the Integrated Fixed Film Activated Sludge Processes under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Clifford Randall. Ultimately, he holds a Ph.D. degree in Civil Engineering specializing in Mathematical Modeling and Evaluation of IFAS Wastewater Treatment Processes for Biological Nitrogen and Phosphorus Removal with Prof. Dr. Clifford Randall as his academic advisor.
