1 to 1 Deployment of devices to students at Gemini JHS

The district is currently working on logistics and evaluation tools for a 1:1 pilot at Gemini

• Gemini JHS has had Chromebooks issued to all students. - 8/28/2016

Deployment of a Learning Management System (LMS) for all schools

• Purpose of LMS is to facilitate the delivery of content
• Leverage use of 1:1 devices
• Facilitates Blended Learning
• Provides single platform for students to learn
• Currently approximately 17 teachers from many schools are participating in the pilot (considering Classflow, Schoology and Otus)

SAMR Model - Integrating technology into the classroom

• The SAMR Model for integrating technology into teaching, developed by Dr. Ruben Puentedura, has gained a good deal of exposure in recent years. “SAMR” is an acronym that stands for Substitution, Augmentation, Modification, and Redefinition.
