Where should I stay?

• A block of rooms is being held at the Omni Corpus Christi Hotel for a discounted rate of $179 per night (rooms available on 2/18 and 2/19). Please plan to book before February 2 at 5 PM Central time.  Participants may choose to make other hotel reservations; however, we will use this hotel as the starting and ending points for transportation on event day. This hotel will also host the welcome networking event.  If you have any questions about the room block or run into any problems booking a room, please reach out to Lesly Gramajo, Manager at Empower Schools at lgramajo@empowerschools.org.

When should we plan to arrive?

• Participants should plan to arrive before 4:30 PM on 2/18. The nearest airport is Corpus Christi International Airport (CRP).  The Omni offers a free shuttle to and from the airport.  For those planning to drive, hotel self parking is available for $15 a night.

What does this event cost?

• We ask attendees to cover the cost of their hotel and travel to Corpus Christi. Empower Schools will provide transportation to and from the hotel to the site visit sites and lunch during the site visit. 

Do I need to attend the welcome networking event?

• We ask that all attendees make travel arrangements to attend the welcome event on the evening of 2/18. During this event, RSIZ leadership will present about the RSIZ, its history, how it operates, and current goals and strategic initiatives. There will be an opportunity for Q&A. This event will help set the stage for tours the following day. 

I live close to the RSIZ. Do I need to use the provided transportation?

• No, participants who live closer to the RSIZ may choose to drive themselves. You can indicate your transportation preference on the registration form.

I would like to attend with a colleague. Do we both need to register?

• Please have every participant register so we can plan accordingly and ensure we remain within space requirements. You can register here.
