So many of us attempt to struggle alone. We know there has to be a better way, but how do we find our path when it feels like we are wading through quick sand?
Do you pretend everything is fine while suffering in secret?
Perhaps the struggle is becoming less and less secret?
Anxiety, depression, grief, relationship problems all have a way of seeping into the rest of our lives and poisoning our potential on the job and within our relationships.
I believe that you have the power to take a deep dive into the topics you normally wouldn't even acknowledge aloud. I believe that you can create a new normal, no matter how devastating the past. I believe in your innate power to be the author of your story.
Counseling won't fix all your problems. It won't make your mother-in-law be kinder to you. It won't take away the chronic illness. It doesn't change the demand of single parenting or special needs children. It can't make your spouse stop straying. BUT I believe counseling certainly has the power to enhance your life in more ways than you might imagine.
My goal as a counselor is to create a non judgmental helping space in which you reclaim your worth from past hurts while learning how to refute the limiting beliefs that keep you stuck.
I became a licensed professional counselor in April of 2017 after a two year, 3,000 hour supervised internship. Prior to earning my professional license, I became a school counselor in 2011. I spent 17 years in the field of education with the latter several years devoted to obtaining licensure and improving my craft by maintaining a small private practice.
