iMovie is a video editing software. It allows users to create video products from multiple media sources. Add video, photographs, and audio to create a custom product. Edit your media to create title slides and transitions.
iMovie can be used to create book trailers, stop motion animation, or any video product.
If you do not find iMovie in your Apple Launchpad, you must fully shut down your computer and restart it while at school. Do this, then wait 20 minutes for computer updates to install. If you still cannot find it, bring your computer to a librarian.
This 30-minute video helps beginners get familiar with the iMovie software. Open it in a new window and practice clicking around in iMovie as you watch the video.
What kind of product are you making? Do you need videos or original photographs? Create and gather media while respecting copyright law.
If shooting video, orient your camera horizontally. If you need to borrow an iPad or camera from the library, you may.
If you are taking and editing photographs, consider using Canva or Adobe Express to prepare images before importing them to iMovie.
If you are adding audio, consider making your own music in Garage Band, Chrome Music Labs, or Soundtrap Studio
