The Halle Fix-It Hub is a community repair event. Community repair events are gatherings that bring people together to create a community centered around “education that empowers everyday people to fix their stuff.” At these events, repair coaches guide participants through the process of fixing everyday objects, such as small appliances, electronics, textiles, tools, jewelry, toys, bicycles, and more.
The goal is not just to fix what’s broken but also to build a community centered on collaborative problem-solving and skill-sharing. Participants learn hands-on repair techniques, gain a deeper understanding of how their items work, and walk away with increased confidence in their ability to tackle future repairs.
These events provide an opportunity to reduce waste, challenge the culture of disposability, and promote a mindset of resourcefulness and resilience. Whether you're a seasoned DIY enthusiast or someone with no prior repair experience, community repair events offer a welcoming space to learn, connect, and make a positive environmental impact.
