Initial Application

As note earlier, the Office of the Provost invites initial applications for Group (Cluster) Hire considerations for cluster group hire.  Group/Clusters should contain 3-5  faculty members from different academic units. Group/Clusters may include (but are not limited to) hiring in complementary fields centered on a convergent area of research; the development of new academic programs or pathways; coordinated teaching, supervision, or training of student cohorts; and affiliation with an interdisciplinary center or institute that catalyzes intellectual work and community across schools or academic units.

Further, group/clusters should be thematic. That is, they must share a common element and support the mission, vision, and strategic plan of the university. Group/cluster hires should aim to expand EMU's research, but must also contribute to curricular and program development, instruction, and service.

For each application, one individual must be named the Proposal Representative This will likely be the individual submitting this form. This will also be the individual that all communications will go to.

Following submission, all applications will be reviewed and a call for proposals will be sent to each group being considered. A full proposal will then need to be submitted electronically. The details of the proposal can be found here.
