Introduction

I’ve been teaching middle school drama/theatre for 8 years. 8 long, weird years. 8 years full of sass, outbursts, interruptions, tears, laughter, and more smells than you can imagine. People say it all the time: “I could never teach middle school…”, “Middle schoolers are terrible…”, “Middle school was the worst for me…”, “I don’t know how you do it…” 

I’ll be honest: Middle school is weird. It’s scary. It’s chaos.
