Welcome — I’m so glad you’re here. Let me introduce myself.
I'm Dr. Sharon Lee,
a licensed counseling psychologist who identifies as a 1.5-generation Asian American cisgender woman and a perfectionist in recovery. My journey, both personal and professional, has been shaped by the intersections of high expectations, cultural complexity, and the deep desire to belong — all while navigating systems that didn’t always make space for my full humanity.
Like many high-achieving women with marginalized identities, I spent much of my early life pushing myself to meet external expectations, often at the cost of my own well-being. The pressure to overperform, the weight of imposter syndrome, the unspoken demands to minimize discomfort for others — these were familiar patterns. Over time, they left me feeling anxious, disconnected, and uncertain of who I was beneath the roles I was asked to play.
Through my training and work as a Counseling Psychologist, I came to realize I wasn’t alone — and that these struggles are deeply familiar to many who live at the intersections of race, gender, body, culture, and other systems of oppression. My own healing journey, grounded in self-compassion and liberation-based practices, deepened my passion for walking alongside others as they reclaim their worth, voice, and authenticity.
My mission is to support individuals — especially young adults and professionals — who are ready to embrace themselves more fully, to explore how their identities and lived experiences shape their inner world, and to live with greater alignment, courage, and connection.
For the past two decades, I’ve specialized in culturally affirming mental health and career counseling, with a strong focus on working with Asian American and other communities of color. I also have clinical research and specialized training in supporting clients with body image and eating concerns. My work integrates a deep respect for cultural nuance and a strong commitment to social justice, aiming always to affirm, empower, and uplift both the individuals I work with and the communities they are part of.
In addition to my clinical work, I’ve provided workshops and lectures on a wide range of topics, including career development, stress management, Asian American mental health, mindfulness, and work-life balance. I also have a decade of experience supervising and training the next generation of psychologists and therapists, with a particular passion for fostering social justice-oriented clinical work.
I’ve presented at national and regional conferences on topics such as self-compassion for women, career support for rural Latinx youth, and effective strategies for helping international students navigate the job market. I’ve also guest lectured at universities both nationally and internationally, offering education on topics including Asian American mental health, group therapy, and the career development of international students.
