The VR Lab is a place to learn by doing. If your course includes a VR activity, you'll come here as part of your class; no prior experience required. Here's what you need to know before your first visit.
Most students visit the VR Lab as part of a scheduled class session, where your instructor and our staff will guide you through a VR experience tied to your coursework. Depending on your course, you might explore a historical site, practice a language in an immersive setting, engage with an interactive narrative, or participate in a simulation relevant to your field.
When you arrive, a lab staff member will walk you through putting on and adjusting the headset and how the controllers work. Most individual VR sessions last around 20 minutes; if your class period is 80 minutes, you'll have more time to get comfortable with the equipment before diving in. If your class is 50 minutes, things will move a bit more quickly, so arriving on time makes a real difference.
Please leave food and drinks outside the lab. Avoid makeup, which will dirty the headsets. Contact lenses are preferable to glasses if you have the option. (what else?)
