Guide: Navigating your digital learning environment
A Learning Environment is an ecosystem of people, values, practices, content, physical spaces and technology.
It is the classroom, lab, online spaces, and library; the teachers and students; the course curriculum and materials; the learning activities; and the integrated tools and devices; all of which are essential for learning, communication, and collaboration.
This guide will help you consider your own digital learning environment and how to best navigate that environment to make the most of your time and effort.

Blackboard Tutorials
So little time, so many tutorials! Blackboard is the backbone of many course ecosystems. It's great for posting course materials, creating and deploying assignments and tests, keeping in touch with your students, and handling all your grading needs. Here are our favorite tutorials.
Zoom Tutorials
Zoom has been the workhorse of William & Mary's pivot to remote teaching. We count on it for synchronous classes and recording videos, but most people only scratch the surface of what it can do. From easy polling to group breakout rooms, mastering the features of Zoom can make a huge difference in your classes.
Google G-Suite Tutorials
Google's G-Suite is free for everyone at W&M. If there's one thing Google does better than anyone, it's online collaboration. Start with Google Drive to share course content (no storage limits for W&M accounts!), and branch out to other tools, from collaborative spreadsheets to easy-to-build websites. The site you're looking at now is a Google Site. And don't get us started about Google Jamboard, our new favorite brainstorming app!
Poll Everywhere Tutorials
We love Poll Everywhere for its powerful polling. Create single question live polls, self-serve quizzes, integrate your surveys into a Powerpoint or Google Slides presentation, and even gamify your course with daily brainteasers and leaderboards. The types of questions are practically endless. From multiple choice, to word clouds, to hotspots, you can be as creative as you like and your students will stay engaged.
