Williamsburg, Virginia has the highest per capita ratio of pancake and waffle houses in the world! Amelia and I created a basemap outlining the locations of 10 pancake/waffle houses that fall within city limits, and added some field attributes to describe each of them.
Domains are a way that the creator can limit the values that can be added to your fields. You can do this by either creating a ranged domain or a coded domain. The ranged domains allows the creator to limit the values that can be entered into a field to a certain range. So for example, if you have a field regarding the amount of hours slept, you can create a ranged domain of 0 to 24. This way, the only values that can be entered into that field are from 0 to 24, and nothing else. Coded domains function very similarly, except you attach an attribute to a certain value. When someone tries to enter data into that field, they will be presented with a drop down menu that allows for them to select from the values you have created. For example, if we have a field regarding presence of a species, we can create coded domains where 0 means species was absent and 1 means species was present. The user would only be able to select 0 or 1, and then the following attribute would be entered into the field.
