As Co-PI on a $170,000 institutional grant for the Applied Research Innovation Initiative, I will lead the development of digital fluency for AI learning resources target for use by young adults and those with limited access to digital technology.
Academic Innovation: A stage-gate approach
As Associate Director for Academic Innovation & Digital Learning, I led the development of a stage-gate process for identifying and exploring innovation ventures at William & Mary's teaching center (STLI). This approach provides structure for evaluating new ideas in our learning environment while building consensus and recruiting interest with campus partners.
Microlearning for professionals
STLI's microlearning platform "STLI Academy" emerged from a multi-stage initiative exploring course platforms, badging pathways, and strategic partners for adult and professional learning. I led a talented team of instructional and graphic designers to complete a successful first year of implementation in 2021-2022.
Digital Fluency course series
Digital age teaching and learning requires a new set of skills and competencies that help people to flourish in a complex digital environment. I developed a course series to address the multifaceted needs for living and learning in a digital world. Digital Fluency: Footprints & Philosophies and Digital Fluency: Policies & Praxis are offered through William & Mary's COLL and INTR programs.
The Next Generation Digital Learning Environment: Contextualization at William & Mary
The next generation digital learning environment (NGDLE) is a conceptual framework to better understand the interdependencies and organic needs of learning in higher education. At William & Mary, I co-led two evaluations of our NGDLE (2017 and 2022) to inform upper leadership of how we can foster a cohesive learning environment in the digital age. Educational Media with lightboard technology
At the Studio for Teaching & Learning Innovation, I led the redevelopment of our Educational Media offerings to support online and hybrid instruction. A key feature of our new approach is a professional Lightboard Studio to encourage immersive and detailed presentations delivered live or asynchronously.
