This memorial from the Dallas area has served as our inspiration for the memorial we will be building in Whitehouse.
This is a graphic rendering portraying our memorial once completed. This view is from the ESC parking lot off of HWY 110.
This is an aerial view of the memorial site with graphic renderings of the final memorial layout. It is located on the corner of HWY 110 and 346, next to the "Welcome to Whitehouse" sign.
We have been working directly with the City of Whitehouse as well as Whitehouse ISD to bring this project to a reality. On March 7th, 2022, we obtained permission from the WISD board in order to use the school land for the Veterans Memorial. We will be doing this project in phases, and phase one will consist of the concrete pedestal as well as the bronze soldier's cross.
This is Phase One of the memorial. The next steps in this project are listed below.
Water and Electrical hookups will be installed at the memorial site so that the site can be properly maintained.
The inner circle which surrounds the pedestal will be added as well as the walkways pictured in the renderings above.
The kneeling soldier pictured above will be purchased with the funds raised from selling the memory bricks which will line the walkways and inner circle of the memorial
These bricks are now available for purchase. There is a limited number of characters that can feature any desired text. Bricks will cost $100 apiece. To order a brick please click here.
This watercolor interpretation of the memorial soon to be in Whitehouse was done by a Whitehouse YCC member in honor of those who have served, are serving, and will serve this country.
This memorial will be in honor of all Veterans, but will also feature the likeness of a Whitehouse Alumni. Nelson Trent was a 1993 graduate of Whitehouse High School, and served in the 56th Brigade Combat Team, a part of the 36th Infantry Division. He was killed in action in Kandahar, Afghanistan in 2012.
