My artwork has recently focused on Journeying as an experience we share in the way life can bring unexpected change ...being in a new place literally or metaphorically, experiencing a new life, traveling far and yet feeling that one is returning to home or what is known to be true. I have thought of the labyrinth as symbolic of this journey. It is an ancient pattern with one indirect path - in contrast to a maze. A labyrinth has no dead ends, and is not a cognitive challenge to be figured out. It simply offers a path that can be traveled one meditative step at a time. One is led to the center, and eventually leaves the center to travel back out ...The concept of not knowing how the journey will go with its twists and turns are representative of a life journey. My art has taken unexpected turns and new directions as well: exploring at each step, using watercolor, monoprinting, and collage. It continues to evolve as I travel on this journey and I do not know where it will lead me.
