The general objectives that individuals should understand after finishing their science courses are:

1. 1. Mass and Energy is conserved and always goes from more useful to less useful forms.

   2. Chemical reactions often result in the useful forms of energy we use.

   3. All matter is made of atoms

   4. Everything comes in discrete units, and you can't measure anything without changing it.

   5. The way a material behaves depends on how its atoms are connected and arranged.

   6. Nuclear energy comes from the conversion of mass.

   7. Every observer sees the same laws of nature.

   8. All living things are made from cells, the chemical factories of life
