Fake News
In an era when fake news is prevalent and misinformation can be quickly conveyed via social and mainstream media, the truth does really matter. Even though it may sometimes be hard to find the truth in current event, it is important that the truth is shared with everyone in order to keep equality in our society. Some fake news can be so ridiculous that it is known to be fake just by common sense, but in today’s era of technology and news, anything can be made up to be believable.
The truth is a valuable tool in today’s culture. It helps society with decision making, helps to build our common knowledge of current events in the world, and helps us to prepare for things that may happen in the future. When the truth is stretch, or something is made to look true, but isn’t, than our society comes barrelling into chaos. We don’t want to believe something in the news, but it is made to look so real online, and in social media that it is almost impossible not to believe in the lies. The lies are not always political either. Many fake news stories come from other countries and their social states, and there are even lies about other species which are made up to cause society to become afraid of things that aren’t true. The truth can be a very valuable tool in our society, but the stretched truth can also be a valuable weapon in our society.
The truth should certainly matter to us even in this era were fake news is prevalent. The truth is the only reliable source of information that we have. Even if the truth is not what we want it to look like, it is the best way to keep the world informed, and safe. Fake news should not be made up to try and protect our society. If anything it will hurt it even more. It is always easier to lie at first, but the outcome will always be so much harder because of the mistrust that lying gives. Even if it is harder to tell the truth at first, it will 100% of the time be easier in the end to be trusted when that trust is needed.
In the end the truth will always be the best option. Fake news is and will be a factor in society because of how easy it can be to make that fake news look real. It can be easy to look at fake news and believe in it because it is news that we want to believe. Society needs to seek out the truth in news, even if it is not what they want to see, or hear, because the truth will always be our greatest strength and bond in society.
