The Teaching and Learning Center offers a range of consultation services focused on enhancing teaching and learning. Our services are personalized to meet each individual's unique needs and are conducted with confidentiality.
Our one-on-one consultations provide personalized support for faculty members seeking to enhance their teaching practices. Whether you’re looking to refine your course design, improve student engagement, or address specific classroom challenges, we will work with you to develop tailored strategies that align with your teaching goals.
We offer consultations to help faculty groups address common teaching challenges and align instructional practices with the group's goals. These sessions can be customized to focus on specific topics such as curriculum development, assessment strategies, or enhancing collaborative teaching efforts.
Our Teaching Analysis Polls (TAPs) provide valuable mid-semester feedback from students, allowing instructors to make timely adjustments to their courses. This service involves gathering student input on what’s working well and what could be improved, providing you with actionable insights to enhance the course before the semester ends.
Our informal class observations offer a non-evaluative opportunity to gain insights into your teaching style and classroom dynamics. We will attend one of your classes and provide constructive feedback on areas such as student engagement, instructional techniques, and/or classroom management.
Join one of our teaching cohorts to collaborate with fellow faculty members and elevate your teaching practices. These intimate, supportive groups engage in peer observations, Teaching Analysis Polls (TAPs), and small group discussions. By participating, you'll gain insights from your colleagues and discover new approaches to enhance your teaching.
Learning communities will take a deep dive into a particular topic. Members will collaborate with colleagues to research effective practices, try out new strategies in the classroom, and reflect on their impact. We will gather monthly throughout the semester. This will be an encouraging and supportive environment to refine existing approaches or experiment with new ones. Faculty from all disciplines and experience levels are welcome to join!
