Clubs Spreading Kindness

By Fernando Neto

Active Mind’s Kindness Rocks

Active Minds club members spreads one of Medfield High School's core values: kindness. Co-presidents Catherine Bannister and Jill Depiero help spread this core value by making “kindness rocks” with the rest of the Active Minds club and placing them at the front entrance to motivate students as they come to school. These rocks have positive messages such as “I’m proud of you!” and “Kindness Rocks!”  These rocks not only allow growth in creativity to be shared throughout the Active Minds club but also kindness to be spread out all around the whole Medfield High School community. With many more projects to come, Active Minds “rocks” last month's project!

Project Teamwork teams up to spread kindness at Blake Middle School

Members of Project Teamwork visited 7th and 8th graders at Blake this fall to promote the club’s anti-bullying, inclusion and kindness messages.  MHS student leaders led discussions and group activities about perception, consequences and qualities of leaders.  The hope is that middle school students will learn to recognize the power of the bystander in challenging situations.

Comfort for Kids with Cancer

Comfort for Kids with Cancer recently made postcards for kids battling cancer at nearby hospitals. Giving nice greetings and wishing the kids well, happy holidays, and a good time with their families, the Comfort for Kids with Cancer club spreads kindness throughout Medfield and more.
